James silently snuck down the hallway toward the art room, it wasn't like him to like art but he had something for it anyway. Quietly resting his hand on the brass doornob, he pushed the wooden door open, catching it before it could bang into the wall. Looking up, happy that no one was in here, his blue eyes scanned the perimeter for a canvas. Seeing a glow of white, he walked over to it, grabbed a medium sized canvas and tok it to the easel at the back of the room. He would let his feelings go, about his mother dying and just let it out on the canvas. Finding a pallete, his strong hands held it as he loaded it with beautiful hues of bright reds to mellow blues. Looking outside, he sat down, getting organized than realized something he didn't know what to paint. Sighing, he squinted his eyes thinking, then it hit him, James was looking exactly at it. The outside world, a boy was upon his horse letting him graze, James smiled and caught the image in his head. His graceful brush moved up and down as he splattered browns together for the undercoat. Most people didn't do an undercoat but that was how his mother had taught him and he was not going to do it any otherway. He knew, he would have to wait a day for the undercoat to dry, but he could just secretly store it in his dorm. Sighing at the mixed saddness in his eyes, he looked at the boy again wishing he could be happy. Sure, he would've come here but he knew why his mom was sending him here, so he wouldn't have to see her die. James threw the brush on the groumd and covered his face sighing, he couldn't paint when he was upset, but that was all he ever was these days.

The sounds of the hallways made Lakota's ears ache. Her cocoa eyes searched the doors, hoping to find the right room quickly. She was yearning to paint, and when she finally found the right door, her eyes lit up. She slipped into the room silently, spotting a boy painting, and took a deep breath. Loka calmly made her way to the pile of canvases, selecting one from the middle of the pile to avoid the slight layer of dust. Making her way to one of the easels, her tiny hand reached out to grab a palate from the table in the center of the room. She set down her canvas and began adding paint to the palate.
Taking a deep breath, she pulled her rubber headband from her wrist and used it to hold back her bangs. Loka made her way back to her easel, her eyes flashing as inspirations hit her. There was so many things to paint, but only one canvas. Sully's face popped into her mind, and she gently began with light hues of gray where the black would later be. She knew her horse's profile like the back of her hand. She began shading, and before long had a rough outline of her horse's body. You could faintly see the outline of his mane blowing in the wind, and the flaring of his nostrils as he turned to face the wind. Loka smiled, gently rubbing her forehead, and set down her paintbrush. She wanted this first coat to dry before adding in more details.
Her cocoa brown eyes returned to the boy, and she tilted her head slightly. His messy blonde hair was adorable, and she'd noticed his baby blues when she'd snuck a glimpse at him while walking by. He tossed down his paintbrush and held his head in her hands, and she considered going to make sure he was alright. But, he'd probably be more interested in Iris. Loka bit her lip, turning her gaze back towards the beginning of her painting. [/blockquote]

James looked up to see a petite girl, he groaned inwardly seeing that she had seen everything. Looking away, he slowly picked up his paintbrush and stood up. His broad frame created quite a shadow as he made his way over to the sink. Turning the faucet on, he held the paintbrush under the cool water and snuck a peek at the girl. She was quiet pretty and calm looking, not like one of those idiot girls who walked around like sluts. She seemed sweet and he didn't feel as uncomfortable. He turned his head, his blue orbs shining and gave a quick smile to her before returning to his seat, attempting to try and configure the light and dark shades of the boy and his horse. His wrist made soft movement as he moved the brush around gracefully.
James soon found another distraction though, that put his mind of painting, looking at the girl, he noticed the bare silence in the room. The ran his hand through his messy blond hair as he wondered what to say, first, most people kinda said "Hello." but James just shut his eyes and opened his mouth, "Um so nice painting." he said catching a glance at her painting and noticing it was very nice. The girl was quite skilled, he wondered how long she had been painting. What intrigued him the most though was how she had quietly entered the room without the boy's notice, James was the one that usually did stuff like, it looked like he had met his match. Smiling softly, he started on the horse's shadow, upon the grass. The boy squinted his eyes and looked at it more carefully, making sure he was accurate with the different tones of light.

Lakota sat still in her chair, trying to determine where else she should add some shading. Her eyes flickered up, locking eyes with the boy, and they exchanged a shy smile. He returned to his work, and she to hers. Her cocoa brown orbs wandered over the painting, but she let out a sigh, setting her brush down and glancing up again. The boy closed his eyes and began speaking. Loka's eyes glittered as the boy complimented her painting. Her movie star smile glittered up at him, and her cheeks darkened slightly. Thank you. You started yours with a undercoat, too, Not many people do that. It's something I've learned to do through trial and error.
Loka blushed, surprised at how open she was being, but forced herself to relax. It wasn't that big of a deal that he had complimented her painting. He was probably one of the guys who was simply talking to her because they'd caught a glimpse of her sister, and wanted to know how to get closer to her. In Loka's eyes, Iris was the prettier one. She was the one who knew what outrageous outfits would work, what hair style would suit her face. Loka simply kept her hair short, and wore neutral tones and jeans. Simplicity was key in her life, and she was more concerned with how her horse looked than how she looked. Not that she looked bad, but she didn't try. She was just naturally beautiful, just not in her own eyes. [/blockquote]

A hint of smile grew on James's face as he found the perfect lighting, for the rider's shiny helmet. Grabbing another paintbrush, he twirled it aroung in the new paint and applied to the canvas. The boy was about to get up to look at it from afar, before he heard the girl's voice. When her words formed themselves in his mind, he slowly straightened his back and turned his head toward her. He had never met another person who did the undercoat except for his mother, wow, this girl was really something. He grinned, "That's right, I've never met another person who does that except for my mother." though the girl probably couldn't tell, his bright eyes lost their twinkle, when he said mother, James never told anyone the truth about him being adopted, only him and his mother knew.
He quickly shook the thought out of his head and noticed her smile, it was quite dazzling, he had never really thought of girls that way. These days, they were all made, up, latest fashion, makeup and two hour hairstyle. But James liked this girl, she was pretty in a natural way, he hadn't come across a girl like her in a long way. James smiled and walked up to her, his broad frame higher then her petite one, "It's nice to meet you, I'm James, James Bond... Not really, just James." he said teasingly. Suddenly he gave a soft shiver, it was wierd for him acting like this, he was not the one to talk or introduce, due to his horrible school years. The boy shook his blond hair out of his eyes before turning his attention to the intriguiing girl.

Loka worked hard at her painting, applying a light coat of off white onto the canvas. It dulled the colors a bit, so that when the top layers were added, they'd stand out all the better. She gently rubbed her cheek, not realizing the slight bit of black paint that had lifted from her palate onto her finger. The smudge was tiny, but her eyes were focused in concentration on the painting. Her coffee colored eyes were narrowed in concentration, until she felt a shadow fall over her, and her eyes went up to meet James' crystal blue pair.
"It's nice to meet you, I'm James, James Bond... Not really, just James." The boys voice was teasing, and an amused look lit up Loka's eyes. The boys sense of humor made her happy, as most people she'd met had been overzealous jerks. A deep sigh filled the girl's chest as she cleared her throat. She bit her lip before introducing herself. I'm Lakota. Loka. Either or. A slight blush formed on the girl's cheeks, and she began chewing on her thumb nail. Iroquois simply said her name was Iris, and no one ever mocked her name, but most of the time Loka couldn't find something... normal enough to not be made fun of for.
The girl forced herself to smile, and when her eyes met James' again, the smile turned real. Something about the boy was allowing her to be happy for the first time since she'd arrived. [/blockquote]

James softly gazed at her, trying to figure her out. He always did that with people, analyzed them in his head. The boys bright blue eyes quickly caught her rubbing her cheek, and bit of black paint was smudged on it. He blew out through his lips when the girl introduced herself as Loka. It was a beautiful name, James had never heard it before. His ruff, strong palm grabbed a scrap rag and sighed looing down at her. "I like your name, it's not common like mine. By the way you have a bit of black paint on your face." he said chuckling and reached the rag toward her soft face. His gentle hands holding the rag wiped the paint of her face. His blue eyes were open with astonishment, he had never been so interested in a girl. The boy shook his blonde hair out of his eyes.
James looked at her and gave her a mysterious smile. He wanted to know more about the girl, "So Loka, has life been kind to you?" he asked honestly. Sure he would not reveal his life o her but he was quite interested on hers. Suddenly it struck him, she looked a bit like the new girl, Iris. HE had only caught a glimpse of her but he wondered if they were sisters. Not that he was interested in Iris, she was too normal for him. James hadn't had a girlfriend in a long time. But he wondered if it was time to move, he knew his mother was dying back in his hometown and when she sent him to BRA... He knew it was going to be torture, but Loka might make it bit better to bare.

Lakota nearly melted at the boy’s icy blue gaze, but she held it together. She felt him watching her, and couldn’t help but try and figure him out in her head. It was typical of her to overanalyze people. She watched his callused hand grab a scrap of rag and watched his breath come out as a sigh. She barely heard his words as she closed her eyes, feeling the soft feeling of the cloth and his fingers brush her cheek. She opened her eyes to find his open, as if in surprise, and she bit her lip. She noticed his mysterious smile and very nearly fell apart right there. She’d never had an attraction like this to any boy before, and was shocked. She’d barely spoken to the boy, and was falling all over for him. She began chewing on her thumb nail as she thought of Iris. He’d be more interested in her. Her long, pitch black hair. Perfect porcelain skin. Her bad ass attitude. She wouldn’t take shit from anybody. Sorry. Thanks. Loka blushed, not really knowing what else to say when the boy wiped the paint from her cheek. She didn’t know how she’d even managed to speak the words. "So, Loka, has life been kind to you?" I suppose. Nice enough. Better now that I'm here. His gaze held her in it’s grip, and she quickly dropped it. She didn’t want it to seem like she was staring- which she was- and began fiddling with her thumbs. She pursed her lips, her cocoa brown eyes moving up to her painting, and up again to his eyes. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

James looked at Loka carefully studying her, he couldn't help but notice, the girl was beautiful. Not the type of makeup glamour beautiful but natuarally beautiful. He blinked when she said "Sorry, thanks.", James smiled, knowing he had got to her. But then again he didn't usually associate with girls. He shook his head, "Don't be sorry." he said gently looking down at her beautiful, shiny brown orbs. He smiled wondering why he felt so attracted to her, but shook his head shaking out the thought. Noticing her looking right at him usually would scare him but this time it made him feel comforted. As soon as she lost his gaze, his eyes fell to her hands, she was fiddling her thumbs and James suddenly wondered why she was nervous. He chuckled grinning in a teeasing way, "Do I make you feel intiminated?" he asked teasingly though he meant it as a serious question.
He really hoped not, James's icy orbs looked at her again as he reached out his hand and took hers in it. It was tiny and warm in his large, broad hand and the boy liked the feel of it. He had to admit, he kinda liked the girl but he wasn't looking for a relasionship yet. At her response to his question, he grew more curious, "And why do you like it better here?" he asked, wondering if he was being to nosy. It wasn't his fault, James was just a curious, intellegent person but he did ofcourse have his flaws. The boy smiled softly at her and the painting he was doing completely flashed out ofhis mind, but he would have liked to do a painting of Loka.

Loka's heart skipped slightly as James spoke. "Do I make you feel intimidated?" His tone was teasing but Loka shrugged. A bit. Guys and I don't usually mix. They usually tend to go for my twin. She wasn't sure why she'd told him that, but now that it was out, her cheeks burned slightly. She felt her blush creeping up to her ears, the tips burning red, and watched as if disconnected as he took her hand in his. Suddenly her feeling came back, and she felt his large, callused hand wrapped around her small, smooth one. Her heart skipped a beat, and she felt herself burn brighter. She knew that she shouldn't be looking for a relationship, but something about this boy had her hooked.
"And why do you like it better here?" The boy's question caught her off guard. Why did she like it better here? Because it was a stable place- she wouldn't be moving around every few months like she had at home. His smile nearly made her melt, but she forced herself to recover as she spoke. I like being somewhere safe. My family moves around a lot. We were all home schooled, so that wasn't a big deal, but I'm finally somewhere that I can meet people who I won't be leaving right away. The flurry of words that escaped her mouth surprised even her, and she bit her lip. She knew the move drove some boys crazy, but she did it out of habit, and her eyes flickered back up to James'.
